However, primers are almost as hard to find as percussion caps right now. I did find a reputable dealer (Midsouth) who has Cheddite 209 primers for what I thought was a reasonable price in today's dollars. CVA makes some nice muzzleloader guns. I own a number of vintage CVA traditional sidehammers, with real black powder and patched round balls as my choice of components. In today's market, the components for modern guns are in short supply. They all leaked and a 300 grain Pittman pushed by 72 grains of H4198 disintegrated my primer. I changed those three guns to Hankins ignitions and all the ones I built since are Hankins.
