I recently purchased my 1987 Venture bass boat w/ a same year Mercury V6 150 XR-2 Black Max, which was originally equipped with an oil injection system. The previous owner explained that the engine required rebuilding in 2006 because the system failed and gave no warning. Without oil, a 2 stroke will burn up in nothing flat, as I'm told, so the ...My husband used this to do an oil injection delete on a 2001 Mercury XR6 150 outboard. If you do not want to worry if your outboard is oiling while running and you want to pre-mix fuel, this plug is what you need.
