It would rotate to empty the waste and would only return just enough so that the waste chute was just past the opening and then stop. Ok so on the side of the bonnet there are 2 tabs make sure they are clicked in. Maybe try taking it off and then placing it back on. You should be able to press the in with your fingers. Shouldn’t need any tools. I have never heard of a “keyhole plug”.
