Hello, I have a 1996 Vulcan 1500 classic with 22K on it. It runs perfect but recently I have been experiencing starting problems. I have checked the battery and it is good. When you hit the start button it sometimes does nothing, other times it will cause a clicking/buzzing sound, and other times it will begin to turn the engine over and start.The Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 has a wheelbase of 1,655 to 1,705 mm (65.2 to 67.1 inches). Minimum ground clearance is 125 mm (4.9 inches) on the Classic FI and 135 mm (5.31 inches) on the Tourer/Nomad. I have a 2005 Vulcan 1500 classic FI. It has about 15000 miles on it now. I ride it just about every day that it doesn't rain. Over the past few months it has become harder to start. It turns over with no problem but it takes longer and longer to kick off. It runs like crap for a few minutes then runs normal.Had an issue with my 1500 Vulcan, took apart the push button start switch and cleaned it with a fingernail file, the contacts were getting a poor connection....1. Remove the fuel pump, fill it with Seafoam, plug ends and swish around. Tap case with screwdriver. Let sit for a while. Empty out Seafoam. Repeat. Then try your gas in a bottle test again. 2. Carbs will have to be cleaned and examined, again.The cold start and jump as you go into 1 is not uncommon. It might stall the first time. The clutch plates cling together with cold oil. I always hold my front brake as I shift into first. The soft, mushy lever. Yes it can be air in the system. Yes you need to change the fluid every so often. If it actually does have a dead spot, rebuild kit will not help. 3. Troubleshoot the problem in order to find and repair only the fault that is present.
