I went ahead and added 1/2 quart, which makes it where I can just see it. I am used to adding gear oil to the gearbox is full on other models.I use SF-rated engine oil from WalMart - the Accel brand (inexpensive, but a good oil). I put slightly over 2 qts of oil in it, and when off, the oil level in the window is half way between the marks. But when the motor is running, the level of oil is right at the bottom line.
