My 2012 Jeep JKU with about 85k miles, keeps having issues with misfiring, codes P0300 / P0301 / P0303 / P0305 keep popping up. At first I thought it could be spark plugs and/or ignition coils, so i changed all of them to new. I used NGK spark plugs and ignition coils. Ran fine for about 50 miles and then one of the misfiring codes popped up.The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set if, during cranking, at least 2.5 seconds have elapsed with a Crankshaft Position Sensor signal present but no Camshaft Position Sensor signal or with the engine running, the Camshaft Position Sensor signal is lost for at least 0.4 seconds with a Crankshaft Position Sensor signal present. The Jeep sat in the driveway for about 4 hours. It was hot. Then after departing, and getting to the stop sign down the street, about 1 minute since engine start, the CEL came on. I always carry a scanner and it said P0300.It could be a multitude of problems. - cam sensors marked with a "D" were bad from factory. - Oil Galley bolts loose, behind the cam phasers on the front of the valve cover. - will cause worn valve guides on the front, listen for an engine tick at idle. - and even the head warping and causing even more trouble.Its a #2 cylinder misfire. Make sure the wire is on nice and tight. Clear the code and run it. If/when the light comes back on with a P0302, move the #2 coil pack to a different location. Clear the code, wait for it to come back. A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened: Faulty spark plugs or wires. Faulty coil (pack) Faulty oxygen sensor (s) Faulty fuel injector (s) Burned exhaust valve. And running on half the engine being injectors are cut off when it detects a misfire. So I cut it off and restart it runs with a small stumble but no longer in limp mode. As I drive away I get a cel. I check it with a bluetooth scanner and its a p0300.2. Idle is perfectly smooth even when light is on. 3. Light clears itself as soon as the jeep is turned of. 4. Light binks 3 times at 50mph than comes on till jeep is shut off. 5. The only code pulled up is the p0300. The jeep is currentyl at the dealership getting looked at.
I already had a head replaced on my '12 and not for another 20K did I get a P0300 code which is today. Could be bad gas or plugs. I'll check those first. Took it to O’Reilly Auto Parts, same codes except no crankshaft sensor code. So I took it to the Jeep dealer, they said they found the same code (no crankshaft code) but was not sure what was causing it.

P0306 - Cyl 6 misfire. P0300 - Random/multiple misfire. P0128 - coolant thermostat below regulating temperature.
