It's in Texas, which in general isn't bad. However, the summers, especially when you're out in the field, make you wish for the next ice age, nuclear winter, whatever. Killeen is a pretty shitty place in my opinion, buut you aren't too far from Dallas or Austin, so that's kind of a silver lining. Personally, I prefer Denton to Dallas, but YMMV.Hood is bad, Texas is awesome. I enjoyed my time there, just be sure to travel outside of Fort Hood/Killeen on the weekends. Austin is 45 min away, Dallas and San Antonio is a little over 2 hours away and Houston is 4 hours away.
