It made me uncomfortable seeing him in my top people list everytime I opened Venmo, even though I haven't been in contact with him in over a year. Blocking him did not solve the issue. Not sure if it's different on an iPhone, but I have an Android. I just went to the Settings app > Apps > Venmo > Storage > Clear Data.
