Im doing this too as a Stab/Spell. Rogue Imp is huge here. I then take the skill in Spell that adds a spells element to gun damage, and use twister as spell. Last I have Corrupted Platemail. A Corrupted Plate mail with three points into contagion carried me all the way from lvl 22 to Chaos 10, when I was lucky enough to find another which keeps me alive at Chaos 50.
